OK. I know I complain about this constantly, but NOW I even have more reason; I do NOT have closet or drawer space in my tiny NYC apartment to house three different sizes of clothing. And that's what has happened to me this year. I have vacillated between three sizes of clothing. And it's not like I go up a size in my pants and go up a size in my shirt. It's just like all over the place. I lose pounds. I lose inches in one place but not in another, I gain inches in other places. It makes it very difficult.
I used to give away my clothing when it didn't fit, but now I have decided to keep it because I am constantly in between sizes.
It is all due to running.
And I don't know if I am gaining/losing fat or muscle. This winter I was definitely losing fat. I can tell in my midsection which got a LOT flatter, but overall I didn't really look that different. Now, I THINK I gained some fat back, but I can't tell if I really have or if I've just gotten used to looking at myself in the mirror in my smaller size and am being more judgmental. My smaller jeans still fit but is that because they are stretched out or dirty or am I losing inches again? I still weigh the same that I did this winter when I lost all of my fat weight. BUT when I sit down on the couch my thighs slap together and clap AND my armpits did the same thing only LOUDER when I ran down the only hill on the Lunken bike trail. It makes it very hard to shop for/have clothes that fit and are stylish which is pretty important in my job :(
ARGHHHH! It is maddening.
I could probably figure out if I was losing or gaining by the simple use of a tape measure, but I'm pretty sure I'm gaining, so I'm pretty sure I don't want to know. Anyway, it still wouldn't solve my clothing problem.
I'm just going to eat when I'm hungry. (Which is basically all the time.)

So Tired
Uh oh. I hope I am not coming down with something. I am soooooo tired. Yesterday I pretty much didn't do anything except for sleep and run. I slept until 11 in the morning, took a two hour nap and was still tired. My run revitalized me until about mile 5.5, when my stomach felt awful. (Luckily I only had .5 miles left at that point).
I had thought about taking something like Airborne or Zicam, but I've taken them before when I've felt this way and all they do is hold off the sickness until you feel a little bit better but not completely. You end up stopping them because you just want to get sick and get it over with. My co-worker also went through this last week. This is NOT optimal timing for me to get sick. I have too much to do at work and of course, the marathon is Sunday. (Oh, and a 12 hour drive home. I guess luckily, Bill is doing the driving.)
OR maybe I am not sick at all. My sister visited us this weekend and we ate food that was a LOT richer than normal. We had a lot more fat too. That DOES always make me feel a little more sluggish and makes my stomach hurt a little. I also felt a little like this when I was fat-loading for the Chicago marathon.
Anyway, I can't believe that the marathon is this week! On one hand, it seems like I've been training forever, but on the other hand the whole thing seems so soon!
Bill and I are going to run together until the marathoners and half-marathoners split up. We have decided that runningwise we are good for each other. I help him keep pace so that he's not tired at the end and he keeps me chatting, which helps the run go faster. I also hope to run with Sarah from the Roncker's group. She's good for me too, for the same reason (plus she is good at helping me keep my pace!)
I am planning on running with the 4:30 pace group, and then if I have extra energy at the end, picking it up for the last few miles.
Oh, and also ( a bit of patting myself on the back here) I guess I really HAVE lost some belly fat. (I always start to doubt this when I look in the mirror. I guess I just get used to the way I look.) I put my pants on today that I just bought in September for my high school reunion and they don't fit! They are down by my hip bones and my belt doesn't even HAVE a notch to make them fit (it would have to be about an inch and a half out from the last notch). And when I looked at the most worn notch from before, it was the second to last one! So I don't feel AS bad about indulging on two donuts yesterday :)

Y800s < 140, 29
Those are three different things.
First, tonight was my Yasso 800 workout. All training season I've been kind of mad that I couldn't find a track to do them. I didn't think about doing them on the treadmill until this morning. I always dread Yasso 800s like I dread going to the dentist. But, like going to the dentist, I know that they are good for me. Unlike going to the dentist, I always feel better after doing them. Since I've recently revised my marathon goal to a 4:30 I also had to revise my Y800 pace. I was freaking out about this until my husband pointed out that it is the same as my 10k pace. I had to do 4 of them this time, and I must say, I had a pretty good workout. I am feeling more and more psyched about my new goal. This weekend is my 16 miler, and I want to see how my new pace fits into that. I can't believe I'm already at that high mileage!
The other good news is that when I hopped on the scale today I found that I've lost a pound from last week. Not a big deal, I know, BUT my big plateau seems to be 140...and with my 1 pound loss I've FINALLY gotten under it! Maybe I will only be Alcoholic this year instead of Alcoholic Athena. I'm also losing inches everywhere! 2 off my belly since the end of January. I attribute this to my healthier diet (which actually includes eating MORE calories), all the walking around that I do and the fact that I've added a workout or two to my regimen.
And the last number...29. Tomorrow is my birthday! Which means NO WORKING OUT. And eating cake.
